The 2022 Minnesota FoodShare Fundraising Campaign starts this week, and PROP Food Shelf is working hard to take advantage of its matching program.
According to a PROP news release, this campaign is the only annual statewide effort where a portion of every dollar given and every pound of food donated is matched. For more on the FoodShare campaign, click here.
PROP is committed to a robust campaign as one of more than 300 food shelves eligible to receive a pro-rated share of the matching funds, the release states.
All food shelf donations will be matched through April 10.
“The cost of food is rising and stocking the shelves is priority one,” says Mary Brown, PROP director of development. “Every dollar raised goes directly back into the community by providing much-needed food for our neighbors in need to help them get back on their feet.”
Donations received during the March 2021 campaign purchased fresh produce, dairy items, healthy snacks for kids, and personal care items. Last year, PROP gave away 520,000 pounds of food to over 3,000 Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents.
PROP invites businesses and organizations to join the Minnesota FoodShare campaign by hosting their own food drive. For more information, contact Mary Brown at 952-746-1890 or maryb@propfood.org.
Individual financial donations also contribute to the success of the March campaign. They can be made online at www.propfood.org or by mail at PROP Food Shelf, 14700 Martin Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
If you or someone you know who lives in Eden Prairie/Chanhassen would like to learn more about PROP’s services, call 952-937-9120 or e-mail prop@propfood.org. All communications will be kept confidential.
