Civic and business leaders gathered Thursday, May 5, for the dedication of Flagstone senior living community, 8350 Commonwealth Drive, Eden Prairie.
Flagstone is the newest senior living community by St. Paul-based Presbyterian Homes & Service (PHS). The dedication ceremony marked the completion of construction to meet the needs of a rapidly growing senior population, according to a news release.
Flagstone includes independent living, assisted living, memory care apartments, and a care center with private suites.
Eden Prairie Mayor Ron Case expressed his gratitude to PHS for Flagstone.
“I was part of the groundbreaking for this development back in 2019,” said Case. “This great community has changed the skyline, it’s changed the world of senior care here in Eden Prairie, and I think it has changed the concept of ‘state of the art.’ This is very exciting for the people living here.”
Steve Nornes, a senior project developer for Senior Housing Partners, the development arm of PHS, said the new Flagstone community offers older adults lots of choices.
Flagstone amenities include a chapel, dining rooms, a fitness center and pool, craft room, library, bistro, salon, woodshop and club lounge. Outdoor amenities include a fire pit, pickleball court, putting green, yoga studio and walking paths.
“As a developer, we ask what we can do to create a place where people are going to want to move in, maintain their preferred lifestyle, live well, grow, and celebrate,” Nornes noted.
