This Thursday, Dec. 7, the community is invited to shop for student-created artwork at PiM Arts High School’s Winter Art Market, visit its “In Progress” Gallery Show, then attend the Future in Fashion Show.
“It’s a big arts day here at PiM,” said Rob Thompson, PiM’s director of communications and development. Admission is free and open to the public for all three events.
The Winter Art Market will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria, and will feature a wide variety of items including jewelry, prints, photographs, ceramics, and more from 40 student vendors.
“Our Winter Art Market is a great place to find last-minute holiday gifts,” Thompson said, adding that cash, credit, and other payments will be accepted, but please note there is no ATM at the school.
The “In Progress” Gallery Show will also run from 4 to 6 p.m., in the school’s Main Gallery. Drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, video, and photography will all be on display.
Visitors will be able to view student works that are currently in progress. They also will be able to view students’ early works displayed alongside more current ones they have created, to see the progress they have made over time, Thompson said.
The Future in Fashion show will start at 7 p.m. in the school’s White Box Theatre. “The show looks into the near and far future, and how fashion might evolve,” Thompson said.
About 15 students, many of whom are studying fashion design at PiM Arts High, will be showing their work, and students will fill the roles of models and emcee.
