Jamison Optical celebrates 10-year anniversary with donation to Onward Eden Prairie
In recognition of the business’s 10th anniversary, Jamison Optical recently donated $1,550 to Onward Eden Prairie, a transitional housing program for young adults. The amount reflects $10 per each complete eye exam conducted in October, not including office visits/urgent care, contact lens rechecks or refraction rechecks.
Optometrist Dr. Pei Ling Jamison and her husband Terry founded Jamison Optical in Eden Prairie in 2013. Jamison indicated that she chose Onward Eden Prairie as the recipient for the 10-year anniversary giving event because of its status as a smaller, local organization. “I like the mission of all-encompassing service that Onward gives to the residents, from a safe place to sleep at night and building skills/goals to stay independent after Onward,” she said. “There are many organizations that only focus on shelter or services, but without both, it is really hard to stay ahead, and Onward provides both services. It is really hard to navigate society as a young adult without a strong foundation.”
Veridian Credit Union donates to Onward EP
Onward Eden Prairie also recently received a $5,000 donation from Veridian Credit Union as part of its Giving Tuesday celebration. Recipient organizations in the credit union’s three service areas in Iowa, one in Nebraska, and one in Minnesota were nominated by the public for the credit union’s Veridian Gives Back for Giving Tuesday campaign and drawn at random to receive the donations.
