The Eden Prairie Senior Center held its annual holiday lunch on Friday, Dec. 8. More than 80 seniors enjoyed a catered lunch, a visit from Santa Claus and Christmas carols from the Eden Prairie High School (EPHS) choirs.
Affordable Best Catering of Bloomington catered the lunch.
EPHS choirs have been providing festive carols for the lunch for more than 15 years. “Even during the COVID year, we invited the choir to serenade the participants outdoors while they were entering the building,” said Sue Bohnsack, the recreation supervisor at the Senior Center.
Santa Claus, who resembled Eden Prairie Fire Department Fire Inspector Jeff Carrane, made an appearance, handing out candy canes to attendees.
The Senior Center activities will continue into the new year. “2024 will bring some new opportunities to socialize, learn, and gather with friends while keeping our regular routine of daily activities in place that most expect to attend,” said Bohnsack.
In February, they will have their annual Senior Center review at their Valentine’s Breakfast, and next summer, they plan on bringing back the minnow races at the garden party.
