2024 summer camp offerings in and around Eden Prairie

With registration having opened in late February for Eden Prairie Schools’ Eagle Zone and EPIC summer programs, and registration for Eden Prairie Parks and Rec’s summer camps opening on March 6, families with school-age children may be planning their summer activities well in advance of spring break.

You’ll find a wide variety of camps offered in Eden Prairie, in close proximity, or with clear Eden Prairie connections. Offerings range from full- and half-day camps to overnight camps, with themes covering fine arts, nature, sports, and more. Many religious organizations also run summer programming. 

As stated, some camps may have already opened 2024 registration, while others will open soon. Eden Prairie Local News cannot guarantee camp availability; some camps may be full and/or have waiting lists.

Art Center Summer Camps

Day camp; full and half-day offerings. Themes include Mythical Characters; Fused Glass; Artists in Space; Digital Drawing; Introduction to the Pottery Wheel; and more.

Camp Fire Teen Leadership Development

Leadership Program progresses with campers in their teens rom day camp assistant to counselor-in-training to junior counselor. Each level includes team-building activities, training, and hands-on experiences working with younger campers.

Discovery Kids Summer Camp

Five-day camps from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Camp takes place on the private 57-acre wooded campus of The International School of Minnesota, adjacent to the Three Rivers Park District’s Bryant Lake Park and beach. Campers get to explore campus while participating in music, art, swimming, sports, and world language, as well as a variety of theme-based activities each week.

Day camp. Full-day camp; half-days available at Forest Hills Elementary for those attending EPIC enrichment programs and Targeted Services academic support programs. Girl Scouts Twilight Camp

A typical day at Twilight Camp lasts from 1:45-7:45 p.m. Girls arrive at the day camp and check in, then spend the day in one of the themed “sites” (picnic shelters). Typical activities include outdoor games, STEM activities, crafts, woodcraft activities, and swimming. This year’s theme is “Twilight Through the Pages,” with literature-themed program areas and activities.

Day camp; half- and full-day options. Focuses on using the immersion approach, where staff communicate in the target language of Spanish. Campers play games, do crafts, sing songs and participate in activities that revolve around the weekly theme, all while speaking Spanish.

Leaders in Training

Day-camp; teen-only training in mornings; assisting camp counselors with younger children in afternoons at a camp location. The goal of LIT camp is to teach the general skills of leadership that can be used at school, home, and community. The curriculum includes leadership, communication and problem-solving skills and includes community components such as volunteering and service projects. Teens also work to create a cover letter and resume for future employment seeking.

Playground Camp

Day camp. Full and half-day options at Miller Park location; full-day at Homeward Hills and Prairie View Parks; Preschool Playground Camp is half-day. Playground camps are designed to engage youth in a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities each day. Campers are grouped by age and offered choices based on their interests. Having fun, making friends, building skills, and enjoying the outdoors are the hallmarks of playground camp. Staff are first-aid and CPR trained and ensure a safe and engaging environment.

Children get to be the farmers doing morning chores like feeding and watering the animals, moving chickens, planting seeds, weeding gardens, collecting eggs, and caring for the farm. Safety Camp

Full-day day camp. Safety education in a camp setting. Topics of discussion such as fire, water, bike, pedestrian and poison safety, drug awareness and more. Day camps. School of Rock’s summer music camps offer students a way to learn how to play songs and, in most cases, perform them live on stage. Kids are placed in bands, have rehearsals and learn more about being true musicians. Spirit in the Pines

Overnight camp. 2-, 3- and 5- night overnight youth camps, plus weekend family camps, at camp facility owned by St. Andrew Lutheran Church of Eden Prairie. Counselors and staff build an accepting and inclusive atmosphere, lead games, and give faith talks around the campfire.
