The Eden Prairie Area Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing is holding its annual fish fry fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie.
In 2023, the all-volunteer organization provided took over 4,000 seniors, veterans, disabled individuals, hospice patients, and youth, and families on fishing and boating excursions on Lake Riley, at no charge. The fish fry is its largest fundraiser.
The all-you-can-eat meal available on Saturday includes fried fish, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, hush puppies, cookies and water. Cost for adults is $18; cost for children age 6-10 is $7. Kids ages 5 and under eat free. The proceeds will fund equipment, maintenance, and other needs for the projected hundreds of boat trips on Lake Riley in 2024.
In addition to the meal, the event will include raffles, a wine drawing, and a silent auction, with the keynote auction item being a two-hour cruise on Lake Riley for up to 10 people with Eden Prairie High School football coach Mike Grant as the honorary pontoon captain. Grant has won 11 Minnesota high school football state championships and received the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award during the 2014 Super Bowl after being nominated by the Minnesota Vikings.
Immanuel Lutheran Church is located at 16515 Luther Way, Eden Prairie.
