Carlondrea Hines, associate superintendent of Eden Prairie Schools since 2021, has been named the next superintendent of St. Louis Park Public Schools.
The St. Louis Park School Board announced on Monday that it had selected Hines as the next superintendent, pending contract negotiations. The contract is anticipated to be approved during the board’s meeting on March 26, and Hines is expected to assume the role no later than July 1.
“I am humbled and elated by the opportunity to serve as the next superintendent of St. Louis Park Public Schools,” Hines stated. “With a steadfast commitment to see, empower, and inspire each student, I look forward to collaboratively shaping a future where every student’s brilliance is realized and celebrated.”
Following the announcement, Josh Swanson, superintendent of Eden Prairie Schools, released a statement praising Hines for her dedication to student and family advocacy and support for school leadership teams.
Swanson highlighted that Hines spearheaded efforts to enhance the district’s Inclusion and Belonging strategy, including coordinating updated staff training in the Tools of Cultural Proficiency and creating professional development programs for site leaders.
“I am grateful for her leadership and collaboration in helping us meet our mission of inspiring each student every day,” Swanson said. “I look forward to seeing all Dr. Hines will accomplish in this new role. Please join me in wishing her well!”
