Starting on Monday, April 15, Xcel Energy will use a helicopter to replace wire on an existing transmission line that runs north and south through central Eden Prairie from Highway 212 to the Minnesota River.
In addition to the helicopter, crews will use bucket trucks and other equipment to install the new wire. Temporary lane closures may be needed while work is being done. Xcel Energy does not expect any power outages and anticipates the project will end by mid-May, dependent on weather conditions.
