The Eden Prairie High School Parent-Teacher Organization will host a workshop titled “Early Warnings Signs of Mental Illness in Youth” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Central Middle School Performing Arts Center, 8025 School Road.
The event, presented by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Minnesota), aims to educate parents, guardians, and educators on the early warning signs of mental illnesses and trauma in children and youth.
Participants will learn about the impact of mental health issues on young people and explore strategies to support those affected. The workshop will also cover suicide warning signs and available resources to assist those in need.
NAMI Minnesota, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental illnesses and their families through advocacy, education, and support. They are actively involved in promoting community mental health programs and services, changing public attitudes about mental illnesses, and enhancing access to care.
For more information on the workshop and additional resources, including a variety of free in-person and online classes for children and adults, visit NAMI Minnesota’s website.
