The newly formed Eden Prairie Housing Alliance has launched its website.
According to the organization, the website is designed to educate people about affordable housing and its importance for Eden Prairie.
The Eden Prairie Housing Alliance was formed to support the recommendations made by the City of Eden Prairie’s long-term plan, Aspire 2040, and the Housing Task Force. Throughout the planning process, community members emphasized the need to increase Eden Prairie’s affordable housing stock and provide diverse, safe, high-quality affordable housing options to residents of all income levels.
“I am excited to introduce our organization’s website to the Eden Prairie community,” said Jan Eian of the Eden Prairie Housing Alliance. “This website is the culmination of work by our members who understand that when everyone, including the people who work in everyday, regular jobs, can afford to live near where they work, our communities are not only better but also stronger.”
The website includes stories of the need for affordable housing in Eden Prairie, common myths about affordable housing and information on resources.
The Eden Prairie Housing Alliance is a nonprofit collaborative, ad hoc group of concerned residents, business and civic leaders, housing experts, and city representatives with a mission to develop an education, marketing, and communication strategy to provide Eden Prairie constituencies with a common, community-wide understanding of what affordable housing is and why it is important for Eden Prairie.
