A $2.8 million contract for repaving part of Prairie Center Drive – Eden Prairie’s busiest city street – is among the items on the Tuesday, May 21, agenda of the Eden Prairie City Council.
City staff recommends hiring Northwest Asphalt, Inc., the apparent low bidder among five companies seeking the city contract.
Approving a construction contract is another step toward the repaving this summer of Prairie Center Drive between Highway 212 and Flying Cloud Drive. Signal improvements at intersections along Prairie Center Drive are also part of the city project. Detours are expected.
City engineering staff had estimated the project’s cost at $3.2 million. Northwest Asphalt’s bid is 12 percent less than that.
Tuesday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Eden Prairie City Center, 8080 Mitchell Road. The city also broadcasts city council meetings.
