The Eden Prairie High School boys volleyball team is having a winning season, according to head coach Steph Chapek. The team has recorded wins over Hopkins and Chaska/Chanhassen and secured a second-place finish in the Minnetonka tournament.
The Eagles opened the season against Prior Lake, winning in five sets, with scores of 23-25, 25-14, 25-12, 21-25, and 15-13. Standout statistics for Eden Prairie were: 14 kills each for sophomore Shaurya Gumma and senior captain Aldi Awasthi; 11 digs and 28 assists for junior captain Deion Lange; four blocks for junior Avi Kommalapati; four ace serves for junior Philip Nguyen; and 20 perfect passes for junior Om Narendra.
The team will begin playoffs the first week of June.
