As summer approaches, Eden Prairie residents have plenty of opportunities to cool off and enjoy the season.
The city’s three splash pads at Miller, Nesbitt Preserve, and Round Lake parks are now open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering families a refreshing escape from the heat.
Both city-run beaches at Riley Lake and Round Lake parks are currently open and unguarded, so visitors are advised to swim at their own risk.
Starting June 10, Riley Lake Beach will have lifeguards on duty from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., while Round Lake Beach will remain unguarded throughout the summer.
For those looking to explore beyond city facilities, swimming Bryant Lake Regional Park, located at 6800 Rowland Road in Eden Prairie and operated by the Three Rivers Park District, is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. This beach is unguarded, so swimmers should take appropriate precautions.
To ensure a safe swimming experience, Hennepin County Public Health regularly samples and analyzes water quality at 31 public beaches across the county. The department has the authority to close any beaches that are found to be contaminated.
