Holly Chunmei Bergstrom of Eden Prairie went to be with the Lord on Aug. 4, 2024, following injuries sustained in a pedestrian/vehicle accident.
Holly was born in China on Nov. 3, 1998, and adopted by her parents, Gary and Nancy Bergstrom, on Sept. 6, 1999. Her sister, Abby, joined the family in 2002. She attended school in the Eden Prairie School District and especially enjoyed the TASSEL program, where she made many friends. For the last two years, she worked at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Eden Prairie, and she loved her job and her co-workers.
Holly was a joy and delight to all who knew her, and her beautiful smile brightened every room. Her favorite color was purple, and she could often be seen wearing multiple purple items. She loved her dog, Grimm, and her cats, Ollie, Leo, and Freddy. Her favorite pastimes were surfing social media sites, watching Hallmark movies, rock climbing at Vertical Endeavors, doing diamond art projects, and riding her electric bike.
She enjoyed taking trips with her parents, and her favorite part of a vacation was shopping for gifts for friends and souvenirs to add to her collections. She was thrilled to meet her travel goals of going to the Bahamas and Hawaii. She was an avid photographer, and her favorite subjects were friends, pets, food, and visually interesting objects.
Holly is preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Dorothy (Youngquist) Bergstrom, and Morris and Alpha (Hviding) Johnson. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Nancy Bergstrom of Eden Prairie, and her sister, Abby, also of Eden Prairie. Her family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will deeply miss her. Holly trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and looked forward to eternity in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at Redeemer Bible Church, 16205 Hwy. 7, Minnetonka, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials may be designated for the Redeemer Bible Church General Fund or the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley.
Arrangements are being handled by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels.
