Nancy Ann Holte, age 62, of Eden Prairie, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born to Donald and Margaret Headsten in Bottineau, North Dakota in 1961 and spent much of her childhood living on the United States/Canadian border. She graduated from Bottineau High School and went on to study at University of North Dakota, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising.
For many years, Nancy worked for Eden Prairie Schools in the playground/lunchroom and as a kindergarten paraprofessional. Her professional journey continued as a cherished preschool teacher at Prestige Preschool Academy (now known as Everbrook Academy) and as a sales associate at Kitchens in Eden Prairie Center, where her warmth and dedication touched many lives. She enjoyed getting to know the customers and helping them find every very specific kitchen gadget they were looking for, that one kitchen gadget they couldn’t find anywhere else.
A devoted wife and mother, Nancy was married to Randy Holte for 35 wonderful years. They moved from Grand Forks, North Dakota to Eden Prairie in 1991, shortly before the Halloween blizzard. Together, they raised two children, Gillian and Nicholas Holte. She is also survived by her siblings Robert (Pam) Headsten, Mary (Gary) White, and Bill Headsten; her mother-in-law, Donna Holte; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Her family will remember her as a loving and supportive presence in their lives.
Nancy had a deep love for animals, particularly her cherished cat, Otis, who was a constant companion throughout her diagnosis and source of joy in her life. Her kindness and generosity extended to everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact on her community and beyond.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Margaret Headsten; her nephew, Steve Headsten; and her father-in-law, Merle Holte.
A memorial service will be held to honor Nancy’s life on Sept. 23, 2024, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Dr, Eden Prairie, MN. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, with the service to follow.
Nancy’s gentle spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
