This past spring, 101 Mobility of Eden Prairie opened its doors as a full-service provider of mobility equipment. Products offered include stair lifts, home elevators, ramps, patient lifts, power wheelchairs, scooters, and other equipment that aids in mobility and accessibility.
Peter Farran is the owner of 101 Mobility’s Eden Prairie franchise. “There’s a critical need for accessible, reliable mobility solutions within our community,” Farran stated in a press release.
“At 101 Mobility Eden Prairie, we’re not just about selling equipment; we’re about enabling people to live safely and comfortably in their own homes, preserving their independence and dignity.”
‘We’re a health care company‘
After working at UnitedHealth Group with businesses that focused on seniors, Farran wanted to start his own business and work directly with people receiving care.
“I wanted to be on the front lines of health care,” he stated. “To me, we’re a health care company, and what we’re providing is safety so that people don’t get injured.”
He has seen firsthand the impact that mobility issues can have on individuals and their family members. Farran’s father suffers from neuropathy in his foot and, as a result, sometimes loses his balance. This can make walking up or down stairs especially dangerous.
101 Mobility customers include seniors and people with disabilities or progressive degenerative diseases.
According to Farran, studies show that “the best health outcomes happen when someone can stay at home for as long as possible.”
Farran described 101 Mobility as a “wholistic service provider.” During the home consultation, they evaluate the individual’s needs, take measurements, discuss options, and provide recommendations.
They also repair and maintain equipment installed by them or other providers. In addition to selling equipment, 101 Mobility also rents equipment for those who have temporary needs.
101 Mobility is located at 5203 West 73rd St., Edina. More information can be found on their website or by calling 612-662-0116.
