A 66-year-old Bloomington man has been charged with five felony counts for allegedly posting nude photographs of a woman on several websites without her consent, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County.
Prosecutors say Stephen Edward Langsdorf, a former Eden Prairie resident, allegedly uploaded the images around Sept. 5, 2023, while living in Eden Prairie.
The case began after the woman, an Eden Prairie resident, reported the matter to police. She told investigators that a federal agent had informed her that nude photos of her were found on Langsdorf’s computer during a search. She expressed concern because she did not recall the images being taken.
According to the complaint, the woman later searched through a shared email account and discovered emails with attached image files, including nude images of herself that had been sent to another person. She provided Eden Prairie police with a flash drive containing these photos, which she had located on Langsdorf’s devices. The investigation revealed that five galleries containing nude images of the woman had been posted online, with titles like “Then and Now” and “Puerto Vallarta 2023.”
Prosecutors allege Langsdorf used the online aliases “BetaSteve” and “EPEzrider” to post the images on a website known for explicit content. Website logs subpoenaed by law enforcement tied these accounts to Langsdorf.
Langsdorf has been summoned to appear in court on Oct. 14. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each count.
When asked for further details, a spokesperson for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office confirmed that the victim is an adult but declined to provide further identifying information.
Langsdorf’s attorney, Andrew S. Birrell, has not responded to a voicemail message seeking comment. An email sent to the Department of Homeland Security, which reportedly initiated the investigation, has not yet been answered.
