Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between County Road 62 in Eden Prairie and Highway 5 in Chanhassen beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. This lane closure for resurfacing is predicted to last through 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Flaggers will control traffic during this time.
Highway 101 remains closed to regional traffic in both directions between Highway 5 and County Road 62 during the project scheduled to last through November. The road is only open to drivers seeking a destination within the project area.
Regional drivers should continue to follow the posted detour. Southbound drivers are routed to Highway 7, west to Highway 41; south to Highway 5; and east to Highway 101. Northbound drivers are routed to Highway 5, west to Powers Boulevard; north to Highway 7; and east to Highway 101.
This work is part of a larger project set for completion in late October.
The Highway 101 project includes repaving two miles of Highway 101 between County Road 62 in Eden Prairie and Highway 5 in Chanhassen, reconstructing the adjacent trail, adding pedestrian crossing signals at Valley View Road and Twilight Trail, improving ramp and signal accessibility, fixing shoulders, and addressing drainage issues at Purgatory Creek
