Julia Nelson of Eden Prairie is performing in the play “Our Town” at Gustavus Adolphus College in the acting role of Stage Manager this November.
Nelson, a member of the Gustavus Adolphus Class of 2026, is majoring in theater with a minor in Scandinavian studies. In a press release, Miguel Sousa, Gustavus Adolphus’s director of fine arts programs, described the play in this manner:
In a year of noise, “Our Town offers a quiet meditation on growing up and marrying and living and dying. Through its minimalist staging and direct storytelling, playwright Thornton Wilder invites us to rediscover wonder in the ordinary and calls for a re-enchantment of our perception of the world.
Performances are Nov. 7-9 at 8 p.m., with matinee showings on Nov. 9 at 3:30 p.m. and Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. Gustavus Adolphus College is located at 800 W College Ave., St Peter. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online at gustavustickets.universitytickets.com.
