For over 10 years, the Eden Prairie Community Band has performed an annual “Share the Warmth” holiday concert, collecting donations for the local PROP food shelf and The PROP Shop in lieu of admission. The 2024 Share the Warmth concert is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in the Eden Prairie High School auditorium.
The performance will feature traditional holiday carols, classical, New Age, and funk music, along with the debut of a holiday piece composed by a band member, woodwind ensembles, and a John Philip Sousa composition interwoven with carols.
The band, which recently celebrated its 50th year, collects nonperishable food items and warm clothing at the concert for the PROP food shelf and the PROP Shop charitable resale store. In 2023, it collected 15 bags of clothing and 240 pounds of food.
The family-friendly performance is scheduled to run from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 8. The Eden Prairie High School auditorium is located at 17185 Valley View Road, with guests asked to use the north entrance.
