If you’re looking for a fun and lively night out, T.J. Hooligan’s Pub & Grub in Eden Prairie should be at the top of your list – especially for its Music Bingo night. We attended the event the Friday night after Thanksgiving, and it was an absolute blast. The energy from the crowd, the music selection and the overall vibe made it well worth the late-night outing.
Music Bingo starts at 9 p.m., but guests are encouraged to arrive at 8:30 p.m. Reservations, required through Facebook, ensure you have a spot. Event details are also available on its website. Note: T.J. Hooligan’s Eden Prairie is closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly.
The lively and welcoming atmosphere made the evening even more enjoyable. There was a wonderful mix of groups – including families, friends and couples. Impromptu sing-alongs brought the crowd together and added an extra layer of fun. Whether you’re by yourself, on a date or out with a big group, Music Bingo is a fantastic choice for a night out. Ample parking in the lot added to the convenience.
If you’ve never tried Music Bingo, here’s how it works: Instead of numbers, your bingo card is filled with song titles or artists. The emcee plays short clips, and your goal is to match the songs you hear with the titles on your card. To win, you complete the designated pattern – a line, four corners, or an X – and call out “Bingo!”
Pro tip: Use apps like Shazam or the “Recognize Music” feature on iPhones to identify songs if you’re stumped. Each round moves quickly, featuring a mix of pop hits and nostalgic throwbacks, making the game both engaging and interactive.
The emcee, who also happens to be the owner, kept the evening entertaining and well-paced. He struck the perfect balance between moving things along and giving the crowd a chance to relax and enjoy. Drinks were available throughout the night, including specials, and complimentary samples of espresso martinis were offered before the event – a fun touch to kick things off.
We tried the Hot Italian Sub with sidewinder fries ($16), the Nacho Grande with chicken ($18), and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae ($13). The sidewinder fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy, the salsa on the nachos was fresh and flavorful, and the cookie sundae was warm, gooey and decadent. While the food was delicious, the standout was the service – our server, Jenna, was attentive without being intrusive or bothersome.
The prizes for Music Bingo added an exciting element to the evening, ranging from gift cards and apparel to mystery buckets and bottles of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, with better prizes as the night progressed. This variety kept the energy high and the competition friendly. Adding to the charm, the venue was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and wreaths, creating a festive and cozy ambiance. The space also featured seven 70-inch TVs and one 85-inch screen.
The Eden Prairie location at 6411 City W Parkway, which opened in September in the former Campiello building, boasts a unique and welcoming vibe, complete with a Harley-Davidson hanging from the ceiling. If you’re in Prior Lake, T.J. Hooligan’s lakeside location at 16731 Highway 13 S offers another great spot to enjoy events and atmosphere.
