On Monday evening, Eden Prairie Schools and the Performing Institute of Minnesota (PiM) Arts High School announced that in-person classes would be canceled on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to predicted extreme cold.
Eden Prairie closures apply to grades K-12 and TASSEL in-person schools. Because this is the first closure of the school year, the district said there will be no e-learning. EP Online will continue as usual.
Eden Prairie Schools said the following programs will be closed or canceled:
- In-person schools for grades K-12 and TASSEL.
- Morning pre-K.
- Afternoon pre-K.
- AM+RE (full-day) pre-K.
- Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes, morning/daytime and afternoon/evening.
- Targeted services.
- Before-school activities.
- After-school activities and athletics at middle and elementary schools.
- Activities buses.
- All Eagle Zone childcare.
- All EPIC programming.
- Community Education classes.
Eden Prairie Schools said the following programs will be running as scheduled on Jan. 21:
- EP Online.
- Athletics and after-school activities at the high school will be at the discretion of coaches and advisors.
- After-school and district events, including the Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion Kinder KidFlick.
- Evening facility rentals.
- Family School will move online.
PiM Arts High School said that all classes and activities will be cancelled on Jan. 21.
