The Eden Prairie Ultimate team is gearing up for its 2025 season and inviting new players to join.
Based at Eden Prairie High School (EPHS), the team offers students the chance to play ultimate, a fast-paced, non-contact sport that combines the endurance of soccer with the passing skills of football. Played with a flying disc, the game was originally known as Ultimate Frisbee but adopted its current name to avoid trademark issues.
Eden Prairie Ultimate is an independent group led by coaches and parent volunteers. Open to boys and girls competing in the open division, the team aims to promote the sport within the school and the greater Eden Prairie community.
Coaches for the 2025 season are Brittany Boyd, Clancy Ferris, and Tyler Latham.
“Overall, we are trying to get basic info out and generate some interest in the sport and team this season,” Boyd said. “We are looking to grow the team and bring in some new players.”
The team will host several events at the Eden Prairie High School to introduce prospective players to the sport:
Open house/information meeting:
- Monday, Jan. 27, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Eden Prairie High School, room 217.
Open gym/practice sessions:
- Sunday, Feb. 16, 7 to 9 p.m. at the EPHS Activity Center.
- Sunday, March 9, 7 to 9 p.m. at the EPHS Activity Center.
Outdoor practices are set to begin March 24, weather permitting, and will take place Mondays and Tuesdays, with games scheduled for Thursdays.
