Nelson-Kumar, director of community impact for Comcast Midwest region, joins four other new directors and two new board development committee members who began their terms on Feb. 8. Girl Scouts River Valleys’ board terms are three years; one year for youth members.
“I’m thrilled to welcome these dynamic leaders to our Girl Scouts River Valleys governance team. Board leadership is essential to shaping the future and sustainability of Girl Scouts, ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to thrive,” said Girl Scouts River Valleys CEO Marisa C. Williams.
One of 111 Girl Scout councils nationwide, Girl Scouts River Valleys is supported by more than 6,300 volunteers and serves over 16,000 girls and gender-expansive youth across southern Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and one county in Iowa.
