William Sawalich of Eden Prairie will race at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time this weekend, competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Saturday, Feb. 22, in the No. 1 SoundGear Toyota Tundra.
Immediately following that Saturday race, Sawalich will climb behind the wheel of the No. 18 SoundGear Toyota GR Supra to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Last weekend, Sawalich ran triple duty at Daytona, competing in the Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series, and Xfinity Series races.
He finished second in the ARCA Menards Series race on Feb. 15 in the No. 18 Starkey Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing. In his track debut on Feb. 14, Sawalich finished ninth in the Truck Series race in the No. 1 SoundGear Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage. In the Xfinity Series race that weekend, Sawalich earned stage points in Stage 2 in the No. 18 SoundGear Toyota GR Supra and was running in the top 10 with two laps remaining before getting caught in a wreck that ended his night and relegated him to a 28th-place finish in the season opener.
