A 45-year-old Eden Prairie woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly firing a gun into the air outside her home Thursday afternoon.
Beulah Louise Underwood was charged Friday in Hennepin County District Court with one count of reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality. The incident occurred near the 15,000 block of Trillium Circle, where police responded around 1 p.m. April 10 to a report of a shot fired.
According to the criminal complaint, multiple witnesses told Eden Prairie officers that Underwood – identified as a family member – had fired a gun into the air while standing outside the front entrance of a residence. Witnesses also reported that Underwood had been drinking throughout the day.
Officers located a single spent shell casing near the front door of the home. Underwood was arrested at the scene and remained in custody at the Hennepin County Jail as of 9 p.m. Friday. Bail was set at $20,000.
A police spokesperson said no one was injured in the incident.
