When it comes to winning prizes at the Minnesota State Fair, Eden Prairie is no slouch.
From creative activities to horticulture, and Ag-Hort-Bee to K-12 competitions, several top prizes have been awarded to Eden Prairie residents over the years. Some have impressive winning streaks in multiple categories spanning multiple years.
Eden Prairie residents also can be considered for an even more special honor: The Minnesota State Fair’s 50 Year Award.
The award is presented annually to individuals who have actively participated in the fair for 50 years as an employee, exhibitor, vendor, and/or volunteer.
Anyone who qualifies, or knows somebody who does, can nominate them for the award using this form. Applications for the 2025 award are now being accepted and must be submitted by July 1.
Recipients will be honored in a special award ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the fair’s Leinie Lodge Bandshell. Their names are also added to a permanent plaque in the fair’s administration building.
