During revisions week at the end of February, International School of Minnesota (ISM) students didn’t just focus on studying for upcoming tests – they also did a variety of fun activities to help their mental, emotional, and physical health.
Wellness Week, an annual event at the private Eden Prairie school, is designed to teach students that life is all about balance. This year, the school’s Student Life Organization Wellness Department organized daily activities that allowed students to focus on different aspects of wellness, including mental, emotional, and physical.
- “Mindful Monday” featured meditation and yoga to remind students to take a mental break and learn ways to improve their mental wellness.
- “Together Tuesday” encouraged students to let creativity flow by painting and decorating rocks.
- “Workout Wednesday” meant the fitness room was open to help students work on their physical wellness and take a break from academics.
- “Thankful Thursday” was a chance for students to reflect on the past school term and write thank-you notes to their peers and staff members who helped them.
- “Fun Friday” involved the Wellness Department providing ice cream treats to give everyone a boost.
