Eden Prairie High School has named Eva Potvin as its new head coach for the girls’ swim team, replacing Bill Bloomberg, who recently resigned, the school’s athletic department announced Friday, Feb. 28.

Potvin, a former varsity swimmer and captain at Hill-Murray High School and the State University of New York at Oswego, has nearly a decade of coaching experience. She has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the Eden Prairie boys’ swim and dive team.
“With a deep passion for the sport, Eva is dedicated to helping every swimmer reach their full potential,” Marissa Brandt, Eden Prairie’s assistant athletics director, said in a statement. “She brings a unique approach that blends technique, motivation, and personal growth. Eva is committed to fostering an environment of positivity, teamwork, and skill development, and we are confident that she will inspire both our swimmers and our community.”
Potvin is currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychology and counseling services at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
“I am super excited for the opportunity to have a bigger role in Eden Prairie Athletics by being named head coach of the girls’ swim and dive team!” Potvin said. “I am looking forward to getting to know the team, what their goals are, and how I as a coach can best be a support in achieving those goals. I am hoping to have fun and train hard during the next season.”
A meet-and-greet for players and parents will be scheduled this spring, with details to be announced later.
