Eden Prairie Schools has announced that students in grades 7-12 will return to the in-person learning using its hybrid model the week of Feb. 8, according to a Jan. 20 post on the district’s website.
Students return to hybrid learning is they were previously in that model, or if they received approval to transfer from EP Online to hybrid for the second semester.
Secondary students have been in distance learning since Nov. 23.
Students in Cohort A will return in person on Feb. 8 and 9 and students in Cohort B will return in person Feb. 10 and 11. Cohort A will continue a Monday/Tuesday in person schedule; Cohort B will continue a Wednesday/Thursday in person schedule. When not in person, students will be in virtual learning, including Fridays.
Students using EP Online will continue with full-time online learning.
There will be no school Feb. 4 and 5 for grades 7-12 or secondary students using EP Online to allow for teacher planning.
The decision to change learning models is based on COVID-19 case rates, health and safety routines in the district, safety procedures in the school and classrooms and other factors, the district post said.
Eden Prairie’s 14-day COVID-19 rate was 32 cases per 10,000 residents as of Jan. 11, according to the Hennepin County COVID Public Dashboard. That’s down from 94 cases per 10,000 on Dec. 7, 2020.
There will be no school for K-12 students on Feb. 12, which was previously scheduled. There also is no school Feb. 15, which is Presidents’ Day.
