Construction crews will be building a temporary acceleration lane from northbound Highway 43 to eastbound Highway 212 starting next Tuesday, June 1, weather and schedule permitting, according to a Carver County Public Works announcement. During this work, short delays on Highway 212 are possible on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Drivers are reminded to watch for flaggers directing traffic.
Near the western border of Chaska, Highway 11/Jonathan Carver Parkway will be closed between Ironwood Dr. and 4th St. starting in mid-June. When the road is closed, drivers will be detoured around construction via Highway 212, Highway 43 and Highway 50. The acceleration lane will help drivers safely get up to speed and merge into traffic onto eastbound Highway 212.
Crews anticipate it will take two weeks to construct the temporary acceleration lane at the corner of Highway 43 and Highway 212. If you’re in the area, please slow down, drive with care, and give our crews and trucks space to complete their work.
Memorial Day Work Schedule
Construction crews will take a brief pause on Monday, May 31. Work will resume on Tuesday, June 1. Drivers are reminded to remain alert in construction zones. Note: Highway 212 is open to traffic during construction.
