Tour of All Saints Lutheran Church Woodland Restoration

Park in the north parking lot behind the church.
This one-acre property has been transformed from a dense, seldom used area full of buckthorn, crown vetch and invasive honeysuckle to a bright woodland full of a wide variety of plants and wildlife that can be observed from walking paths. Many existing native plants were discovered during the removal of the woody invasive species. Using those as a guide and the funds from a Nine Mile Creek Watershed District grant, native trees, shrubs, forbs and seeds have been added to enhance the diversity and replace the buckthorn. This property was on a Wild Ones tour in 2018. Come and see the progress and learn about the success and challenges!
