Autism Awareness Open House & Celebration

April is Autism Acceptance Month. In honor of this month, a statewide non-profit organization, Minnesota Autism Center (“MAC”), will be hosting a family-friendly open house at their Eden Prairie location on 10180 Viking Drive.

The current prevalence of autism in Minnesota is 1-in-36 children. Providers of autism therapy show thousands of people across our state needing services for their children.

On Saturday, April 29th, from 11 am to 2 pm, MAC’s center will be open to the public. In addition, local community advocate and author, Sheletta Brundidge, will be recording her podcast from the open house and will be giving away autographed books (developed around her kiddos, who are on the spectrum).

The event will also include a free magic show courtesy of SuzMagic, free balloon twisting from Phancy Face, free cupcakes from Amy’s Cupcake Shoppe and the opportunity to visit with MAC leadership and therapy providers. Yummy Tummy food truck will be on site for lunch.

MAC provides therapy to children, ages 18 months to 21 years of age, on the autism spectrum and family skills therapy to parents and caregivers of those children. MAC also provides assessments to children and adults.
