Eden Prairie High School’s Eagle Marching Band typically travels to five competitions in the fall. Each time, they transport instruments, equipment, and large props in two trailers, and one of those trailers has reached the end of its road.
The Band Parent Organization (BPO) is hosting a fundraiser next week called the Band Bash, to raise $10,000 to buy a new trailer. This party will feature dinner and beverages, music by the School of Rock House Band, a cornhole tournament with cash prizes, a silent auction, and a wine pull.
“We are really excited about the Band Bash,” said event organizer Carina Smith. “It will be a lot of fun, and we have at least 20 silent auction items with a variety of price points.”
All Eden Prairie Bands/Color Guard alumni and supporters are invited to join current members and families.
“The band community is awesome,” band director Mike Okwabi said. “They always step up and support us, even families of alums who graduated years ago. We hope they come to the Band Bash or make a donation if they can’t come.”
The event will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at 6820 W. 175th Ave. in Eden Prairie. Tickets are $30/adult and $20/K-12 student, with a $20 fee for each two-person team for the cornhole tournament.
