Starkey employees at the company’s global headquarters in Eden Prairie recently donated over 200 gifts to Spare Key’s Cookies with Santa event.
Spare Key is a Minnesota-based organization that helps families with sick or injured loved ones get the resources they need so they can put all of their energy into caring for their family members.
Each year, Starkey puts up Wish Trees with ornaments that have a gift written on them to benefit a local charity. Employees at the hearing aid manufacturer can take the ornament and leave the unwrapped present under the tree for a local family.
“It’s great to see these two organizations come together to bring some love and light to local families,” said Karen Spaeth, Starkey’s chief marketing officer and a board member of Spare Key.
Spaeth continued, “Spare Key’s mission is to assist local families who have critically ill or seriously injured family members with whatever they need. Medical situations cost families a lot of time, energy and money, and our goal at Spare Key is to help take on those burdens so families can focus on their loved ones. The gifts donated by the Starkey family will surely bring some joy this holiday season.”
