Eden Prairie has opened the nomination process for its 2024 Heritage Preservation Award, inviting community members to recognize significant contributions to local heritage and history.
According to the city, the award program recognizes individuals, families, or businesses that have made outstanding contributions to the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and use of Eden Prairie’s heritage resources.
Anyone can submit nominations for themselves or others; one award is given annually.
Katie Qualey, the former vice chair of the Eden Prairie Historical Society, received the award in 2023.
In April, the Heritage Preservation Commission will select and notify the award recipient, who will be honored at a City Council meeting in May during National Historic Preservation Month.
The deadline for nominations is 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 12. The city’s website details the award program and nomination criteria.
