Robert Gene Twiss, age 86, passed away on Jan. 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and wife, Joanne.
Robert (Bob) was a long-time resident of Eden Prairie. He was a veteran who served his country as a mechanic in the U.S. Navy. His maintenance skills learned in the Navy transcended into his daily life. He was the consummate handyman, always tinkering, always fixing. He enjoyed camping, boating, rock collecting and family trips.
In his professional life, Bob was an entrepreneur. He had several local companies that ranged from representing and selling marine parts, sporting equipment, wildlife prints, etc. If it interested him, he made a business out of it.
He gave back to his community. Bob was very active in the Eden Prairie Lions Club. He frequently helped at their events. You may have seen him serving refreshments during the summer softball tournaments.
Bob had a superpower. We called him the “Dog Whisperer.” All dogs seemed to be naturally drawn to him. He loved his pets, and all dogs loved him.
Robert is survived by two daughters, Karen (Daniel) True and Marcia (Brian) Wilson; one son, Michael Twiss; four granddaughters, Kelsey True, Stephanie True, Allison Wilson, and Nicole Wilson; and one sister, Terri Brown.
The family invites you to a Celebration of Life on April 11, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Camp Eden Wood, 6350 Indian Chief Road, Eden Prairie.
