I’m writing to say ‘Thank You’ to the person who has been hand-painting and hiding small rocks on the walking trails at Lone Lake Park (in Minnetonka).
Last fall, my daughter and I found two meticulously painted rocks, one featuring a red fox and another featuring a pretty flower and bumble bee. We returned the following weekend, continued our search, and were rewarded – again – with three more painted rocks with even more ornate designs.
I’m led to believe this artist takes great pride in their work, given the unique signature that is common on the backside of each rock! Not to be forgotten, during the recent warm spell this March, my daughter and I returned for another treasure hunt and were rewarded one more time!
Our weekend ritual of biking to YoYo Donuts and then going on a nature walk at Lone Lake Park has been greatly enriched with this new pursuit of hand-painted rocks hidden in the roots and holes of trees and bushes along the trail.
To the artist who has chosen to make the park even more beautiful: THANK YOU! If you feel like revealing yourself, we’d be eager to meet you and say thanks!?!?
