The Eden Prairie Boys High School volleyball team secured their spot in the state tournament by defeating Bloomington Jefferson in straight sets, 3-0, Wednesday at home.
Boys volleyball head coach Steph Chapek praised the team’s performance, stating, “The team is putting into play what we work on in practice really well. We are looking forward to state.”
The Eagles offense was led by senior captain Aadi Awasthi and sophomore Shaurya Gumma, who both recorded 8 kills. Awasthi also led the team with 13 digs. Junior Aarush Shukla contributed 4 blocks, while sophomore Gee Padmanaban topped the service chart with 4 aces.
With the victory over Bloomington Jefferson, Eden Prairie advances to the state tournament, which will be held Wednesday, June 12, and Thursday, June 13, at Shakopee High School
