TEDx – Youth @ MinnetonkaHS
The theme of this year’s event is Rewriting the Narrative. This essentially means we are advocating for others to break traditional societal standards and pursue their passions, no matter how bold. “Throughout my time as a high schooler, I’ve realized that a lot of people feel pressured to conform to the status quo. Oftentimes, this prevents people from pursuing their interests. We decided on this theme to inspire others set social
expectations aside and do what they love.” ~Ava Chen, Head Organizer
Eden Prairie resident Vijay Dixit will be speaking at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Dixit left his professional career to champion teen driver safety after a distracted driver killed his 19-year-old daughter Shreya on November 1, 2007. He established Shreya R. Dixit Memorial Foundation, a non-profit to educate and inspire young drivers to drive distraction-free. Vijay authored his book, ‘One Split Second’, for which U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar wrote the foreword.
