As election season heats up, Eden Prairie Local News (EPLN) is reminding readers of our guidelines for submitting political letters to the editor.
To ensure clarity and fairness, we encourage everyone to follow these key rules when submitting their election-related letters.
We will not endorse candidates or run editorials during the election cycle, but we do welcome letters to the editor. Political letters should be up to 350 words, unpublished elsewhere, and sent to editor@eplocalnews.org. Please include your full name, home address (which will not be printed), and phone numbers for verification purposes.
Writers affiliated with a specific campaign must clearly disclose that information. To ensure fairness, letters challenging candidates or raising questions will not be published after Nov. 1, as we want to allow time for responses.
Letter writers may be asked to provide documentation supporting their statements before publication. If a source is cited in the letter, it must be properly linked or referenced. We ask that individuals submit only one election-related letter per person per election. If more than one letter is submitted, there is no guarantee it will be published.
