Purgatory Creek Park in Eden Prairie was abuzz on a sweltering Saturday as more than 85 artists and vendors converged for the largest Arts in the Park event to date, transforming the locale into a bustling hub of creativity. Eden Prairie police responded to a dog bite incident involving three people at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16. The incident occurred at the top of the exit ramp from westbound Interstate 494 to Flying Cloud Drive. According to a city news release on Thursday, a vehicle was stopped at the red light where an adult man and woman were panhandling with a 2-year-old child. The Metropolitan Council has announced a one-day closure of West 70th Street on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the rail crossing for systems work related to Metro Green Line Extension construction. Local business access is available through Shady Oak Road. Impacts to westbound traffic and the north sidewalk of Technology Drive are expected throughout the summer for work on the south side of the new SouthWest Station parking ramp being constructed adjacent to the existing ramp. SouthWest Transit will provide bus service to the 2023 Minnesota State Fair from Thursday to Sunday, Aug. 24 to 27, and again from Wednesday, Aug. 30, to Sunday, Sept. 3. There will be no service on Monday or Tuesday this year. The dates for the 2023 Minnesota State Fair are Thursday, Aug. 24, to Monday, Sept. 4. A high-speed chase involving two stolen vehicles led to four juveniles being arrested Saturday morning. Eden Prairie police, according to a spokesperson, assisted Carver County Sheriff deputies in pursuing a stolen black Kia SUV. Carver County had earlier advised that a black Toyota Camry was believed to be traveling with the stolen Kia. At about 9 a.m., Eden Prairie officers spotted both vehicles heading east at high speeds on Highway 212 near Prairie Center Drive. Officials initiated a pursuit when the vehicles continued to flee.
