Sound of Gospel
2nd Chance Outreach presents “The Sound Of Gospel”. Join us at North Central University on Saturday, Feb. 4th (7pm) or Sunday, Feb. 5th (3pm) as we celebrate Black History with an anthology of Gospel Music. This anthology will be comprised of drama, dance, music, and songs, as we explore the rich history of Gospel Music.
Through this anthology” we will examine the evolution of the music we call “Gospel Music”. In so doing, we will experience and be inspired by the beats and rhythm from the shores of Africa; moans and cries in the work songs and Negro spirituals of the slaves; the melodic tones and sounds of the Dr. Watts hymns; the harmonious sounds of the quartets; the creation and inspiration of the choir; the upbeat and spirited sounds of the Praise & WorshipTeams, and the extraordinary sounds and rhythmic beats of contemporary and Urban Gospel.
Furthermore, through this event, our goal is not only to celebrate Black History but also to bring awareness of the financial and healthcare disparities within our communities.
