Some come from private businesses, nonprofit groups, or other organizers. All of the resources we share here are meant to provide you with information you can use to put sustainability into action.
Local Resources
Eden Prairie Climate Action Plan The Eden Prairie City Council adopted a Climate Action Plan with the overall goal of achieving community-wide carbon neutrality by 2050.
Eden Prairie Drinking Water Report – To keep consumers informed about Eden Prairie water quality and standards, the city publishes an annual drinking water report.
Eden Prairie Environmental Learning Center – Students of all ages and grade levels are invited to visit the center to learn about water conservation and becoming good stewards of our environment.
Eden Prairie Renewable Energy – Lists various renewable energy options available for residents and businesses that cater to many different budgets and needs.
Eden Prairie Yard Waste Disposal Information – Available to Eden Prairie residents at no charge, this site provides hours of operation and lists of what is and isn’t accepted.
Friends of Eden Prairie Parks – Assists the City of Eden Prairie to improve and maintain the biodiversity and ecosystems within parks, preserves, and conservation areas.
Sustainable Eden Prairie – An ongoing city effort focusing on education and implementation of sustainable practices to protect the environment and natural resources the EP community enjoys.

Home Energy Squad – Learn how to save money on energy bills from a Home Energy Squad visit. HES visits are currently available to any resident of Minnesota with a CenterPoint Energy or Xcel Energy account.

Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Energy Smart Program Helps businesses understand and reduce their energy use. Energy Smart services are free for businesses served by Xcel Energy or CenterPoint Energy, and for Minnesota Chamber members. A small fee may apply for others.
University of Minnesota Extension – Extension brings Minnesotans together to build a better future through University science-based knowledge, expertise and training.

US Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools – A public engagement initiative for school sustainability that is structured as a federal recognition award. Eden Prairie Schools was honored in 2024.
